Courage Lab | Exploring Decolonization & Equity in Community Arts

Courage Lab (April 2015) photo array - Fonna Seidu

As I mentioned in this post, I love love love Courage Lab!

This session was even more powerful because Duke Redbird spoke to the history of colonization on Turtle Island.

When folks broke off into groups folks explored ways in which they are contributing to colonization and how to actively work against perpetuating oppressions. Each group also had at least one scribe who would write or draw key discussion points.

Check out more of the evening on my flickr page.

I really appreciate Neighbourhood Arts Network x Sketch x AVNU for making this happen. It was a magical evening.
